The calendar will soon turn to 2017 but before that happens some longtime rivals do battle before the close of 2016.
This week’s matchups cover the next two weeks, including tournaments during the holiday break. The year will go out with a bang as Hopkins, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, is set to clash with No. 2-4A Eastview at the St. Olaf Holiday Hoops Classic in Northfield.
While many people may turn their attention south where the two big-school titans will battle, we cast our gaze west to feature a meeting of No. 1-3A Hutchinson and No. 9-2A Watertown-Mayer in our pick for the Top Game of the Week.
