And the winner is... MN Girls' Basketball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Girls' Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top Performer winner

Emily Beseman, Swanville. Beseman registered two career highs in Swanville's two wins last week. Behind 40 points (a career high), 10 rebounds and five steals, the senior guided Swanville to a 62-59 overtime win at Holdingford on Jan. 28. She then jumped to a new personal best of 17 boards — along with 22 points, 11 assists, and five steals — in a 70-46 win over Ashby four days later.

Top performer candidates

Myia Ruzek, Lewiston-Altura. A 30-point triple-double from the junior pushed the Cardinals to a 59-46 win over Wabasha-Kellogg on Feb. 1. Ruzek posted 37 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in the contest.

Olivia Lane, Pequot Lakes. Pequot Lakes' forward is on an impressive scoring run — reaching at least 28 points in her past four games. Lane's best outing came on Feb. 1, in a 68-60 win over Crosby-Ironton, when she recorded 33 points and 14 rebounds.

Sara Scalia, Stillwater. The Ponies guard put in 26 points and grabbed five rebounds to down Park of Cottage Grove 73-35 on Feb. 1. Scalia's effort helped extend the Ponies', ranked No. 3 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, winning streak to 11 consecutive games.

Karley Motschenbacher, Park Christian. With production on both sides of the floor, Motschenbacher pushed Park Christian past Bagley on Jan. 28. The junior recorded 38 points, nine rebounds, six assists and 13 steals in the 73-30 win.

Paige Bueckers, Hopkins. Bueckers scored 43 points in a battle between Class 4A's two top-ranked teams on Feb. 1. No. 1-4A Hopkins' 69-66 victory knocked off Wayzata and left the Royals as the final undefeated team in Class 4A. 

Mia Curtis, Minnehaha Academy. The junior made tallies across the stat sheet in the No. 4-2A Redhawks' 72-48 win over Blake on Feb. 1. Curtis recorded 21 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, five steals and a block in the winning effort.

Lily Wilson, Pine City. Wilson nearly recorded a triple-double — she finished with 17 points, 10 steals and nine assists — in Pine City's 90-44 victory over Onamia on Feb. 1.

Madison Mathiowetz, Sleepy Eye St. Mary's. Mathiowetz led the winning effort in an 85-62 victory over Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Feb. 1. The freshman scored 35 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished three assists.

Kaelynn Kudis, Cherry. Kudis made contributions in multiple ways for Cherry in its 72-33 win over International Falls. The junior had 15 points, six blocks, five rebounds, four assists and four steals in the Jan. 28 contest.
