We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Goodhue vs. Mountain-Iron Buhl, 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12. This monster matchup in Class 1A pits the No. 2-ranked Rangers (10-1, 1-0) against the No. 8 Wildcats (10-2, 4-0). Heading into the week, Mountain Iron-Buhl has lost just one game: a one-point loss to Roseau on Dec. 21.

Park Center vs. Robbinsdale Armstrong, 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8. The No. 9-4A Pirates (9-2, 2-0) are perfect in Northwest Suburban Conference play and look to hold off a Falcons (8-1, 2-1) team that's coming off its first loss of the season.
