Minnesota girls' basketball high school all-star series takes place Saturday

Forty of the state's top seniors will compete in two games at Carlton College in Northfield.

The five Miss Minnesota Basketball finalists are set to participate in the MN Girls Basketball All-Star Game on Saturday, April 7, at Carleton College in Northfield.

Sam Haiby of Moorhead, Sydney Lodermeier of Goodhue, Heaven Hamling of Grand Rapids, Maesyn Thiesen of Sauk Centre, and Megan Walstad of Eastview join a group of the state's top 40 seniors participating in their last high school game.

Games are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are good for both games and can be purchased at the door for $10 per adult, $5 per student, while children 12 and under are free.  

The event also includes a free clinic for girls in kindergarten up to fourth grade put on by the all-stars, and the Timberwolves and Lynx Basketball Academy -- including Lynx players Rebekkah Brunson and Lindsay Whalen. The clinic runs from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Carleton College’s West Gymnasium.
