The Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association announced the five finalists for its Miss Minnesota Basketball award during last week's state tournament.
The award, which is given to the state's best senior basketball player, will be announced April 6 at the association's All-Star Series banquet in Northfield.
Three of the five finalists ended their high school careers with a trip to the state tournament, and two players — Maesyn Thiesen of Sauk Centre and Megan Walstad of Eastview — helped their teams cap undefeated seasons with state titles.
