Apple Valley get's last-second win over Burnsville

APPLE VALLEY 60, BURNSVILLE 59: Eagles sophomore Jaryn Pipkins made a basket with 15 seconds remaining, giving Apple Valley a one-point victory over the Blaze in the South Suburban. Apple Valley senior Jordan Sammons scored her 1,000th point early in the game and finished with 24 points. Junior Jessica Buck led the Blaze with a season-high 24 points.

NORTHFIELD 49, HOLY ANGELS 48: Senior guard Elena Huber made two free throws with 21 seconds left, lifting the Raiders over the Stars in the Missota. Holy Angels had three decent looks at the basket in the waning seconds, but couldn’t convert on any of them. Raiders sophomore center Allyson Harris was the game’s only double-digit scorer with 15 points.

EDEN PRAIRIE 81, MINNETONKA 66: The Class 4A, No. 2 Eagles scored 44 points in the first half, and cruised past the Skippers in the Lake. Eden Prairie’s three leading scorers — Morgan Van Riper-Rose, Shayne Mullaney and Jackie Johnson — combined for 54 points. Van Riper-Rose finished with a game-high 22 points. Johnson, a junior forward, had nine assists.

TOTINO-GRACE 62, MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST 52: Senior guard Kaeli Kraska set a milestone and did a little bit of everything to lead the Eagles past the Lakers. Kraska scored a game-high 23 points, including the 1,000th of her career, while going 12-for-12 from the free-throw line. She also added eight steals and six assists. Micah Thornquist led Southwest with 21 points.

MAPLE GROVE 69, CENTENNIAL 57: The Crimson defense took charge in the second half, creating turnovers and holding the Cougars to 22 second-half points in the Northwest Suburban victory. Ellen Edison paced three Maple Grove players in double figures with 16 points. Centennial senior guard Kahla Becken had a game-high 27 points, including six three-pointers. The Cougars played without junior forward Danika Gieske, who will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
