New Life Academy senior forward Cara Lutes made school history last week when she topped the 2000-point mark for her high school basketball career.

Lutes made a driving layup against Legacy Christian's box-and-one defense in New Life's 60-33 victory in the opening round of the Minnesota Christian Athletic Association's tournament.

The basket pushed Lutes past the 2,000-point threshold and solidified her hold as the all-time leading scorer at the Woodbury private school. The Drake University recruit has 2,002 career points.
