Watertown-Mayer survives scare from Mound-Westonka

WATERTOWN-MAYER 62, MOUND-WESTONKA 46: For Watertown-Mayer, Friday’s game against Mound-Westonka had the look of a classic trap. But Watertown-Mayer took control in the second half, outscoring the White Hawks 35-21 to secure the victory. Marissa Janning led Watertown-Mayerwith 19 points while Katie Theisen added 15 and Amanda Lynch 14.

HILL-MURRAY 62, NORTH ST. PAUL 59: Tessa Cichy made a 30-foot shot from the right wing with less than one second left to rescue the undefeated Pioneers. Cichy led Hill-Murray, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, with 26 points, including four three-pointers. Cichy brought the team back from a six-point deficit with 1:50 remaining in the game with a pair of three-pointers. North St. Paul was led by senior guard Rachel Colter with 14 points.

EDINA 50 MINNETONKA 49: Down by one point with less than ten seconds to play, Edina guard Katybeth Biewen missed her first attempt at a game-winner but grabbed the rebound and connected on a runner from five feet away at the buzzer for the win.
