DeLaSalle holds off Benilde-St. Margaret's 54-50

DELASALLE 54, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 50: The Islanders held off the Red Knights in a matchup of the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in Class 3A. DeLaSalle opened an early 15-point lead before seeing it cut to 28-21 at halftime. Junior guard Mariah Adanene had a game-high 21 points for DeLaSalle. Khadijah Shumpert (16 points) and Josie Dillon (15 points) combined for 31 points for the Red Knights.

RICHFIELD 64, NORTH ST. PAUL 60: The Class 3A, No. 7 Spartans scored the final six points, rallying to beat the Polars in the Classic Suburban. Richfield sophomore guard Jessica January hit a pull-up jumper, tying it 60. She then drew the attention of three North St. Paul defenders on the following possession, and passed off to junior Bryann Guyton for what turned out to be the game-winning layup with just under a minute left. January, who finished with 28 points, sealed the victory with two free throws with six seconds left.

ANNANDALE 48, DELANO 46: Senior center Mykenzie Spaulding drained a three-pointer with four seconds remaining, giving the Cardinals a road victory over the Tigers in the Wright County. Spaulding finished with 14 points. Senior forward Emilee Duske had 14 points for Delano.

ORONO 53, WACONIA 50: Junior guard Amie Tunheim hit a short bank shot off the block and was fouled with 20 seconds left, breaking a 50-50 tie and lifting the Spartans over the Wildcats in the Wright County. Tunheim, who had 12 points, also made the free throw. Orono only went 3-for-28 from the floor in the first half, and trailed 19-13 at the break.

EASTVIEW 49, BURNSVILLE 44: Senior guards Alex Beckman (23 points) and Jenna Dockter (19 points) combined for 42 out of Eastview’s 49 points in a win over the Blaze in the South Suburban. The Class 4A, No. 8 Lightning went 20-for-25 from the free-throw line.

VISITATION 56, TRINITY 51: Sophomore Meredith Lawrence scored 21 points, all on three-point shots, as the Blazers beat the Tri Hawks in a nonconference matchup.
