The Hawks have won seven consecutive games

After starting the season 2-8, Cooper has won won nine of its past 10 games -- including seven games in a row -- since Jan. 4th. Recent victories over Totino-Grace and Chisago Lakes left Cooper at 9-1 in the conference, in second place behind Benilde-St. Margaret's (11-0).

“Chisago Lakes was much taller than us. … We struggled early with their zone but managed to get back in rhythm with our defense and get some steals and easy baskets to get back in the game,” head coach Jen Rademacher said.

Two sophomores, Talalyiah Howard and Chelsey McGee, have sparked the recent winning streak. Howard, a forward, averages 13.2 points, while McGee, a guard, averages 11.2.

Looming ahead is a Feb. 25 rematch against BSM, which won the first meeting between the teams 61-27 in January.

"Should be an exciting February," Rademacher said.
