Turnovers and poor free throw shooting result in first loss of the season

“When you don’t shoot better than 50 percent from the free throw line and have 24 turnovers, you aren’t going to win.”  That summed up Brian Cosgriff’s view of his No. 1-ranked Hopkins girls basketball team’s loss Tuesday night to Eden Prairie, 71-65. The loss is especially hard on Hopkins sports fans because it comes the same night that the undefeated, No. 1-ranked boys team also lost to Eden Prairie—by an even-narrower 75-71 margin.
