• EDEN PRAIRIE 71, HOPKINS 65: The two schools traded sites for the girls' matchup, but the outcome was the same – an Eagles' victory over the No. 1-ranked school in Class 4A.
Junior forward Jackie Johnson had 16 points, pacing four Eden Prairie players in double figures. The No. 2-ranked Eagles had six players with at least eight points.
Sophomore Taylor Anderson led the Royals with 14 points.
Hopkins won the first meeting between the two teams 62-56 on its home court in the finals of the Dick's Holiday Classic. It will host Eden Prairie in the final conference meeting between the teams on Feb. 18.
• RICHFIELD 99, CHANHASSEN 76: Sophomore guard Jessica January scored a season-high 40 points, including the 1,000th of her career, as the Class 3A, No. 8 Spartans beat the Storm in nonconference play. January added 11 rebounds and eight assists. Junior guard Hannah Wise also had a double-double for the Spartans, finishing with 5 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
• BURNSVILLE 60, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 41: Jermisha Watson posted a triple-double (17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists), leading the Blaze past the Cougars in the South Suburban. Teammate Jessica scored 20 points.
• LAKEVILLE NORTH 59, PRIOR LAKE 24: The Class 2A, No. 3 Panthers held the Lakers to six second-half points in the South Suburban victory. Senior guard Rachel Banham scored 16 of her game-high 20 points in the first half.
• MINNEHAHA ACADEMY 65, ST. CROIX LUTHERAN 58: The Redhawks defense put the clamps on Crusaders leading-scorer Kayla Hulsebus. Huslebus, who entered the game averaging over 18 points per game, was held scoreless. Minnehaha Academy built a 15-point halftime lead before the Crusaders stormed back by hitting nine three-pointers in the second half. Senior guard Sarina Baker had a game-high 18 points for the Class 2A, No. 7 Redhawks.
• SHAKOPEE 45, WACONIA 44: In a back-and-forth battle, senior Cara Zastrow went 1-for-2 from the free-throw line with 4 seconds remaining, giving the Sabers a nonconference victory over the Wildcats. Waconia pushed the ball up the court after Zastrow missed the second free throw but was unable to get a shot off.
