Class 4A

The top five teams are: No. 1 Hopkins, No. 2 Elk River, No. 3 Lakeville North, No. 4 St. Michael-Albertville, and No. 5 Eastview.

Class 3A

Hutchinson again finds itself at the top of the Class 3A rankings, winning close contests against Bloomington Kennedy and New Prague.

Fourth-ranked Winona and fifth-ranked Mahtomedi made the biggest moves up the rankings, each jumping three spots from last week. Winona’s week included a dominating 73-40 win over Rochester Century and a close 58-51 victory over No. 7-3A Northfield. Mahtomedi posted wins over Hill-Murray and Simley, not giving up more than 35 points in either.

Orono (No. 2) and Holy Angels (No. 3) each moved up one spot from last week and round out the top five.

Class 2A

The top five teams are: No. 1 Roseau, No. 2 Sauk Center, No. 3 Plainview-Elgin-Millville, No. 4 Watertown-Mayer, and No. 5 Norwood Young America.

Class 1A

Mountain Iron-Buhl holds onto its top spot on the Class 1A rankings, collecting two wins. The Rangers defeated Mayer Lutheran 68-55 and recorded a 71-54 victory over No. 10-1A Bigfork. They average almost 80 points per game. Senior Chelsea Mason ranks 10th in the state in points (538) and leads the Rangers with an average of 21.5 points per game.

Third-ranked Wheaton-Herman-Norcross is the only team in the Class 1A top 10 to be undefeated. It hasn’t let an opponent score more than 45 points in a game since Dec. 10 and has only allowed opponents to score more than 50 points in three games this season.

Mankato Loyola moved up one spot to No. 4, posting two more wins since last week’s rankings. Senior Lindsey Theuninck is the state leader in average points per game (27.6) and is ranked second in points (689) and tied for seventh in three point shots made (64). Theuninck scored a combined 65 points in the past two games.

Goodhue (No. 2) and Ada-Borup (No. 5) complete the top five.
