Updated girls' basketball state rankings: Feb. 15

Class 4A

Two teams remain undefeated in the Class 4A top 10, as No. 1 Hopkins and No. 2 Elk River boast identical 23-0 records. The Royals recorded a win in their only game of the week, defeating Edina 73-52. Junior Raena Suggs collected 25 points and ranks second on the Royals with 17.2 points per game. Elk River recorded two wins, each by at least 15-point margins.

St. Michael-Albertville moved up three spots to No. 4 after two wins, giving up less than 40 points in those victories. Team-leading scorer Rae Johnson scored a combined 34 points in the two games for the Knights.

Lakeville North (No. 3) and Eastview (No. 5) complete the top five.

Park Center jumped two spots to No. 8 after winning their only game of the week, an 81-31 victory over Totino-Grace. Junior Sommer Blakemore led the Pirates with a season-high 18 points.

Champlin Park (No. 9) and East Ridge (No. 10) found their way into the top 10 after not appearing on the rankings last week, each holding 18-5 records.

Class 3A

Hutchinson found its way back to the top of the Class 3A rankings. After being ranked No. 1 early in the season and starting 4-0, the Tigers hit a rough patch, losing five of their next seven. They have since gone on an 11-game winning streak, including two wins last week that came by 14- and 36-point margins.

Alexandria (No. 2) and Orono (No. 3) each also climbed two spots, with both teams picking up two wins. Orono’s Tori Andrew ranks third in the state with 73 three pointers.

Grand Rapids moved up one spot to No. 5 after defeating Cloquet 87-37 in its only game. Junior Heaven Hamling led the Thunderhawks with a season-high 36 points. Hamling leads Grand Rapids with an average of 21.4 points per game.

Hermantown (No. 10) collected wins over Duluth Marshall and Zimmerman, improving its record to 17-3 and making the No. 10 Hawks a new addition to this week's 3A rankings. 

Class 2A

The top 5 teams are: No. 1 Roseau, No. 2 Sauk Centre, No. 3 Plainview-Elgin-Millville, No. 4 Norwood Young America, and No. 5 Watertown-Mayer.

Class 1A

The top 5 teams are: No. 1 Mountain Iron-Buhl, No. 2 Goodhue, No. 3 Wheaton-Herman-Norcross, No. 4 Cromwell, and No. 5 Mankato Loyola.
