Anoka wins tight matchup with Park Center

ANOKA 55, PARK CENTER 53: The Pirates had a difficult time blocking out when it counted most. Freshman forward Ashley Bray scored on a short jumper with 2 seconds remaining following four consecutive offensive rebounds, giving the Tornadoes a victory over Park Center in Northwest Suburban play. Bray finished with six points. Hailee Gifford led Anoka with 18 points. Park Center’s Cayla McMorris scored a game-high 23 points.

CHISAGO LAKES 71, SPRING LAKE PARK 70: Wildcats sophomore guard Hannah Trandahl knows how to keep her cool.  Trandahl was fouled with 2.1 seconds left in regulation, and made her second free throw after missing the first, lifting Chisago Lakes over the Panthers in a North Suburban matchup. Junior forward Whitney Tinjum had 31 points for Chisago Lakes.

DELANO 45, MOUND-WESTONKA 43: Mackenzie Kirk made two free throws with 14 seconds left, giving the Tigers their first Wright County Conference victory of the season.

LAKEVILLE NORTH 76, BURNSVILLE 28: The Class 4A, No. 3 Panthers tied a school record, making 10 three-pointers in a win over the Blaze in the South Suburban. Senior guard Rachel Banham led Lakeville North with 17 points.

MINNEAPOLIS ROOSEVELT 82, MINNEAPOLIS EDISON 81: Sophomore guard Tyneka Cage hit the second of two free throws with 8 seconds left, giving the Teddies a high-scoring victory over the Tommies in the Minneapolis City. Cage finished with 17 points. Edison got off a short shot in the closing seconds, but missed it. The Teddies were led by Kaylani Edwards’ 26 points. Edison eighth grader Viria Livingston scored a game-high 30 points.
