Shakopee lose junior center Boegman to knee injury

EDINA 50, SHAKOPEE 38: The Class 4A, No. 6 Sabres might have suffered more than a defeat. Junior center Rachel Boegeman, the team's second-leading scorer and top rebounder, left because of a knee injury in the second half and so did the Sabres' inside presence. Shakopee held a slim one-point lead at halftime before being outscored 28-15 in the second half. The 10th-ranked Hornets went 14-for-16 from the free-throw line in the second half. Edina junior guard Kathybeth Biewen led all scorers with 21 points.

NEW LIFE ACADEMY 60, ST. ANTHONY 54: Seniors Bekah Schmidt (30 points) and Cara Lutes (18 points) combined for 48 points, leading the Eagles past the Huskies. The tandem combined to go 22-for-25 from the free-throw line. Schmidt was 13-for-15, while Lutes was 9-for-10.

ORONO 55, WACONIA 41: Junior guard Amie Tunheim had 20 points, 11 in the second half, when the Spartans pulled away from the Wildcats.  She made back-to-back three pointers with about 7 minutes left, streching the Orono lead from 5 to 11 points.

RICHFIELD 76, SIMLEY 48: Sophomore guard Jessica January netted 34 points, leading Richfield past Simley in the Classic Suburban Conference. Richfield raced to  37-19 halftime lead.
