Rachael Hentges is the shooting guard for Shakopee's girls' basketball team. Don't be fooled by that – she also likes dishing off to teammates.

Hentges, who is averaging 15 points per game for the Sabres this season, is the school's record holder for assists.

Here is a closer look at Hentges:

Best movie I've seen in the past year: "Avatar" in 3D!

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are: "I've Just Seen a Face" by The Beatles; "Love In The Club" by Usher; anything by Kid Cudi.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me: Amusing; sociable; random.

Favorite pregame meal: I never eat before games. I love feeling light and having nothing weigh me down.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? Study halls help a lot with the homework part, and I'm used to having a busy winter so it doesn't seem like a struggle at all.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Being No. 1 in the state for assists as a junior was pretty cool, and breaking the assists record for my school was also really memorable. Beating our rivals Prior Lake was also a huge deal because I had never beat them since I was on varsity.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? It used to be Prior Lake because they are the town closest to us and every game in every sport is always intense, but they aren't in our conference starting this year so we don't have a steady rival yet.

How did you get started playing sports? My older brothers played when I was growing up, so I got dragged to every game and tournament and eventually learned to love the game.

At my first varsity practice, I felt... small! I was in eighth grade and all the girls seemed sooo big and tough.

To get focused for competition, I... listen to my iPod (mostly pump-up songs) and go over past games in my head.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... they can't stop my baseline drive or penetration to the hoop.

What are your goals this season? Winning the Missota Conference is No. 1, then on to winning state of course.

What did you work on in the offseason? The offseason is mostly just working on the basics; jump shots, ball handling and new moves.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? I wish basketball had a shot clock, and that all games were free for students so we could go to every sporting event.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? My favorite college team is the Gophers or Duke. My favorite pro team is the Twins or Kansas City Royals because my brother [Chase] plays for [the Royals] organization.

In 10 years, I hope I ... am a sports broadcaster for ESPN and interviewing all the best athletes around the world.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? "Don't force it; let the game come to you." – Shakopee girls' basketball coach Juan Mitchell.
