Balance carries No. 2 Eden Prairie

• EDEN PRAIRIE 77, PRIOR LAKE 58: It didn’t take former Timberwolves player Chris Carr long to pick up his first high school coaching victory. Junior guard Shayne Mullaney scored 18 points, pacing five Eagles in double figures in their victory over the Lakers. Teammates Jackie Johnson (16 points), Aubrey Davis (15), Morgan Van Riper-Rose (13) and Taylor Uhl (10) also scored in double digits. Prior Lake had four players in double figures, led by senior Megan Pold with 12 points

• EAGAN 70, MINNEAPOLIS ROOSEVELT 60: Junior guard Jess Hart scored 26 points, leading the Wildcats past the Teddies. Hart didn’t play in Eagan’s season-opening 46-30 loss to Owatonna on Friday.

• ROSEMOUNT 66, TARTAN 61 (2 OT): Senior forward Brooke Stevens went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line in the second overtime as the Irish outlasted the Titans. Stevens finished with 19 points. The Irish were paced by senior guard Rachel Hoeppner’s game-high 26 points, including four three-pointers. Kayla Morisette led tartan with 25 points.

• ROSEVILLE 58, TOTINO-GRACE 57: Sophomore Jacqlyn Poss sank a halfcourt buzzer-beating shot that helped the Raiders edge the Eagles. Poss finished with seven points. Senior forward Megan Stuart led Roseville with a game-high 20 points

 • WOODBURY 71, ROCHESTER JOHN MARSHALL 35: Senior guard Michelle Young, coming off an excellent AAU season, scored 28 points as the Royals rolled over the Rockets. Woodbury raced to a 40-16 halftime lead against Rochester John Marshall.

 • MOUNTAIN IRON-BUHL 62, DEER RIVER 35: Mountain Iron-Buhl got 12 points from senior Charlotte Overbye, including her 2,000th career point, and 10 each from Allie Knuti and Kathy Ostman.
