Cara Lutes is the latest in a line of skilled basketball players coming out of New Life Academy. The senior forward, who has committed to play in college for Drake, answered a few questions about hoop life.

Most memorable moment as a high school athlete? I've loved the crazy bus rides, intense practices, the silly locker room times, and the sweet moments of victory.

What unique skills does a good basketball player need? She must learn to be a solid communicator. She needs a passion that she is going to outthink, outhustle, outwork and outplay the opponent.

Basketball is ...? An orange, round ball. And a great opportunity to build meaningful friendships.

Most memorable shot? My junior year, first round of the Rochester Rotary Tournament. I made a last-second three-pointer to win!

Favorite free-time activity? Sleeping. I also quite thoroughly enjoy waving at strangers

Three words my parents might use to describe me: Driven, (com)passionate, leader ... and awkward.

Something you would like to improve? I'm a horrible dancer!

Signature move? I don't have one. I pride myself on hustle and aggression.

What is the best part about high school life? I love that I attend a smaller high school because I know nearly all the faces in the hallways.
