Conference races are tightening across Minnesota as the regular season winds down, and this week features plenty of matchups that could go a long way in determining league champions.

Six of our 10 Top Games fall on Friday night, and none is bigger than the South Suburban Conference contest between rivals Shakopee and Eastview.

The Sabers (21-1, 14-0), ranked No. 2 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, hold a one-game advantage over the No. 3-4A Lightning (20-2, 13-1) in the league standings entering this week.

The lead stems from Shakopee's 73-65 win at Eastview on Jan. 19, when North Carolina commit Taylor Koenen poured in a game-high 26 points for the Sabers.

The Lightning have won seven straight games since the loss, led by Kansas State commit Rachel Ranke, who averages 16.6 points per game.

With the Sabers eyeing their first South Suburban crown and Eastview looking to pull even in the standings, this matchup has all the makings of a classic Top Game of the Week.
