Tuesday's girls' basketball roundup: St. Michael-Albertville gets defensive to beat Eden Prairie

Zezza, Knights hold the Eagles to just 15 points after halftime

ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 61, EDEN PRAIRIE 43: Kitri Zezza had 11 steals to help the No. 3, 4A Knights shut down Eden Prairie’s offense in the second half. The two teams were tied at halftime 28-28, but St. Michael-Albertville's defensive pressure held Eden Prairie to just 15 points in the second half. Zezza, a senior, also had 13 points, six rebounds and five assists. Rae Johnson’s 27 points paced the Knights offense. Sophia Hughes recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Eden Prairie.

LAKEVILLE NORTH 61, PRIOR LAKE 47: The Panthers had a balanced offensive scoring attack with four players in double digits, Temi Carda led with 14. Sara Krynski had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Lakeville North. Riley Wheatcraft scored 21 points for the Lakers. The Panthers, ranked no. 5 will take on crosstown rival Lakeville South on Friday.

BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 56, BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 31: The Eagles came out on top in the crosstown matchup. Lashayla Wright-Ponder led Kennedy with 25 points. The senior is averaging 24.5 points per game. Ellie Gess scored 14 points for the Jaguars.

DELASALLE 74, FRIDLEY 56: The Islanders had a one-point lead at halftime, but outscored Fridley by 15 in the second half to take a decisive win. Camryn Speese and Aiza Wilson led DeLaSalle with 19 and 16 points. Suzanne Gilreath had a game-high 37 points for the Tigers. She leads the metro in points per game with 28.7. The senior guard will play at Wisconsin next year.
