Tuesday's girls' basketball roundup (Jan. 12): Hutchinson beats New Prague in OT

HUTCHINSON 58, NEW PRAGUE 55 (OT): Tori Wortz and Erin Corrigan each scored 15 points to help the Tigers rally to down their Wright County rival in overtime. Hutchinson trailed the host Trojans by nine points at halftime before rallying to force the extra session. Randi Allar and Maizie Deihl each had 13 points to lead New Prague.

EASTVIEW 50, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 45: Rachel Ranke scored 13 points and Allie Pickrain added 10 to help the visiting Lightning notch the South Suburban victory.  Eastview, ranked No. 4 in Class 4A, limited the Cougars to 17 points in the first half. Brianna Miler led the Cougars with 13 points.

CHANHASSEN 60, BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 56: Nikki Lucas scored a season-high 29 points to help Chanhassen rally past the host Jaguars. The senior guard raised her scoring average to 13.3 points per game. Ellie Gess led Jefferson with 21 points.

ST. PAUL ACADEMY 38. MOUNDS PARK ACADEMY 37: Emily Carter had 11 points to help the Spartans beat the Panthers. Only three Panthers scored and they each shared the same last name—Goodno. Abby had 28 points, Sara scored 7 and Katie added two.

FRIDLEY 70, ST. ANTHONY 56: Suzanne Gilreath and Brooke Teff combined to score 49 points to help Fridley down St. Anthony. Gilreath finished with 24 points and Teff had 25. Fridley snapped a two-game slide with the victory.

MAPLE GROVE 47, ARMSTRONG 43: The Crimson jumped to a 29-11 at halftime and held on to beat the Falcons. Armstrong outscored Maple Grove 32-18 in the second half but could not overcome 20 points from Crimson forward Allie Schmidt.

SHAKOPEE 68, FARMINGTON 34: The Sabres, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, cruised past the Tigers behind 20 points from Taylor Koenen. Shakopee led by 10 at halftime before holding Farmington to seven points in the second half.
