Coach Joaquim Harris and the Greyhound girls begin their 3rd season together and this year’s squad will open with high hopes. Four of Five starters return this season as Mia Anderson has graduated. East ended last year 10-16.

Two seniors return along with 6 other letter winners . Hannah Johnson is a well known ball player in the state. She is getting college looks for her hoops skills both in D1 and D2. She is a nice player that many other squad members will look up to this season. The other senior Liz Libbon, also, a very talented player with skills to play college hoops next season. These two will set the tone for the season with their play.

The Hounds have 6 players over 6’0 on this year’s roster. Ashley Williams, a sophomore, is one who is not that tall, but is the main distributor on the squad that has the ball in her hands a lot. She is an excellent ball handler and has improved on her strength and 3 point shooting this offseason.

With no conference to be part of, the Greyhounds play an independent schedule so see quite a few different levels of talent. Games this squad looks forward to this year are matchups vs Rogers and STMA. Height is a strength for the season, but that doesn’t mean they are a half court squad. There is enough talent to play many styles if they need or choose to. This could be the best season so far in the Coach Harris era. Everyone is excited to get going and see if that is the case.
