Josh Fredrickson takes over the Knights coaching job from long time coach Darin Dahle this season. Coach Fredrickson is looking forward to this season despite a lot of unknowns. 

A core of senior athletes will return from last season’s 15-13 squad that some varsity experience. A lot of the big scoring shoes will need to be filled quickly. Players scheduled to return includ Seniors Janel Wichern, Amanda Petersen, Nicole Enemark, and Rachel Nelson. Bailey Possail and Ashlynn Wabeke are juniors who’ll be looking to help as is sophomore Halli Lingen.

The second game of the season vs TMB is one that is marked every season as the rivalry here goes back several years. Section 3A giant Minneota also is on RTR’s schedule twice and serves as a good yardstick to measure success when they play again. Coach Fredrickson see’s the same Minneota squad as the favorite to repeat as section champs, but wants his squad to make some noise in the post season as well.

With many of the main players gone from last season will cause the Knights to have to work harder to score. Defense will have a high focus and speed in the backcourt will hopefully provide some offense from that. Outside shooting is something the team will need to work on and gain confidence in. Knight fans are some of the most supportive in the state and will be behind this team.
