The girls’ basketball state tournament starts Tuesday, a day earlier than normal, and ends at Williams Arena instead of Target Center.

Tuesday’s games — all four Class 4A quarterfinals and two Class 3A quarterfinals — will be played at Target Center. Then starting Wednesday and for the rest of the week, all of the action moves to the University of Minnesota, with games held at Williams Arena and, for the first time in recent memory, Mariucci Arena.

How it all breaks down:

4A: Quarterfinals at Target Center, semifinals Thursday at Willliams.

3A: Quarterfinals Tuesday at Target Center and Wednesday at Mariuicci Arena, semifinals Thursday at Williams.

2A: Quarterfinals Wednesday at Mariucci Arena, semifinals Friday at Williams.

1A: Quarterfinals Thursday at Mariucci Arena, semifinals Friday at Williams.

Finals: The championship games in all four classes will be held Saturday at Williams Arena. Typically the tournament concludes at Target Center, which this year is the site of the inaugural National Collegiate Hockey Conference tournament.
