Rosemount senior Hannah Grim entered the season No. 2 on the school’s all-time career scoring list in girls’ basketball. She will leave as No. 1.

More importantly than the individual accolades, though, for Grim would be to exit as a winner. The Irish, coming off a 6-21 season in 2012-13, are 4-5 through nine games.

Grim, who is averaging more than 23 points per game, signed a letter of intent with Marquette in November. Here is a closer look at Grim, who also runs cross-country and track for the Irish:

Q: Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me?

Q: What did you work on most prior to the start of the basketball season?

A: Staying in the best shape possible, and continuing to work on my shot.

Q: What are your goals for the remainder of the basketball season?

A: I hope to break the school’s all-time scoring record and improve our record as a team from last year. [Amber Connor is the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,401 career points.]

Q: At my first varsity practice, I felt …

A: ... scared because I was the only freshman. Once I got to know the team, it was fun.

Q: To get focused for a game, I …

A: ... concentrate on what I’m doing, and always have a good warm-up.

A: It’s not a specific moment, but playing my senior year of basketball with my best friends, who I’ve been playing with since sixth grade.

Q: Who is your school’s biggest rival, and why?

A: Eastview because there has always been a rivalry with them in every sport.

Q: How do you balance school and sports during the year?

A: It can be hard, but it’s important to get homework done right away.

Q: In 10 years, I hope I’m …

A: … working as a pharmacist.

Q: What is the best sports advice you ever received?

A: Nothing is ever going to come easy, but eventually it will be worth it.
