In the first of two interstate games at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic, Bloomington Kennedy retained bragging rights for the state of Minnesota with a 59-49 victory over Mason City (IA). The Eagles broke out to an early lead and held it throughout.
Tonoia Wade paced Kennedy with 19 points, a dozen before intermission, when the Eagles led 31-23. Kiara Russell and Kenisha Bell each added 12 points, while Jazmyn Martin (9) and Jade Martin (7) each contributed in the scoring column.
Jadda Buckley was the only player in double-figure scoring for Mason City, scoring 11 points.
