Mounds View turned a halftime deficit into victory at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic at Hopkins' Lindbergh Center. The Mustangs trailed Simley at the break, but outscored the Spartans by 10 after intermission to win, 56-50.
Katie McDaniels (17 points) and Olivia Fixsen (15) led the second half surge, combining for 20 points in the final 17 minutes. Paige Thayer and Erika Johnson also got hot after the half, scoring all seven and six of their points, respectively.
Simley had just four players in the scoring column: Kylie Brown (16 points), Abby Kain (13), Maya DeLao (12) and Aejah Lockett (9).
