Both twins graduated from Rochester Mayo in 1997

In a bit of irony, women's professional basketball players Coco and Kelly Miller of Rochester were both released by their respective teams on Monday.

The twins, 1997 graduates of Mayo, were both in their 12th season in the WNBA.

The Los Angeles Sparks waived guard Coco Miller after she played 10 games with the team. She averaged 2.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 14.1 minutes after signing with the team on June 8.

Kelly Miller was waived by the New York Liberty. Signed as a free agent in the offseason, she averaged 1.0 points and 7.5 minutes in 11 games for New York. A 38-percent career 3-point shooter, she was 1-for -11 from beyond the arc for the Liberty.
