Eastview stops Park to advance to state

CLASS 4A

• SECTION 3: Eastview advanced to the state tournament Thursday night with a 52-47 victory over Park at Hamline University. A fierce second-half surge from the Wolfpack wasn't enough to topple the top-seeded Lightning, and Eastview's halftime lead proved the winning difference. Led by freshman guard Madison Guebert's 20 points, Eastview kept Park at arm's distance for much of the contest, but a few key offensive boards, a couple of momentum-swinging steals and the two-pronged attack of Larissa Lurken and Sydney Lamberty kept the Wolfpack close. Even with the Hutton Arena buzzing, Eastview never its lost composure, nailing crucial free throws in the final seconds to preserve the victory. Lurken and Lamberty scored 19 and 13 points, respectively, for Park.
