The MN Girls Basketball Hub poll is for entertainment purposes only.
Two of the state’s best Class 2A girls basketball teams will square off Tuesday night when Providence Academy (12-0) travels to Minnehaha Academy (9-3), and you can watch live on the MN Girls Basketball Hub.
About the matchup:
A chance to prove which is the best team in the Independent Metro Athletic Conference, although both would prefer to hoist the state championship trophy at the end of the season. Providence Academy is No. 1 in the Star Tribune’s statewide Minnesota Top 25 rankings while Minnehaha Academy checks in at No. 18. They are No. 1 and No. 3 in Class 2A in the Minnesota Basketball News class-by-class rankings.
Three-time defending state champion Providence Academy’s toughest tests have come against Class 4A schools Eastview, Hopkins, and Maple Grove. Minnehaha Academy has won eight of its last nine, only falling to Class 3A defending state champion Benilde-St. Margaret’s 79-75.
Two of the state’s most highly-regarded players — Providence Academy junior guard Maddyn Greenway and Minnehaha Academy senior guard Addi Mack — will go head-to-head. Greenway is committed to Kentucky while Mack is Maryland-bound. Greenway is the state’s top-ranked player in the Class of 2026 and ranked No. 18 in the nation by ESPN HoopGurlz. Mack is the No. 2-rated player in the state in the Class of 2025, according to Prep Hoops Report, and lands at No. 100 in the nation. Mack is averaging 33.4 points per game while Greenway is scoring 29.9 points per game. Greenway’s younger sister Beckett, an eighth grader, sophomore Emma Millerbernd and seniors Hope Counts and McKenna Schaefer are each averaging double-digit points. Junior Sinae Hill and senior Amina Allen also average double-digit points for the Redhawks.
Tuesday night is a doubleheader, with the boys teams from the two schools playing after the girls game. The MN Boys Basketball Hub will also livestream that game.
