SHERBURN - Rodger Taylor left the basketball court in Sherburn on Jan. 14 with one more coaching win - but a significant one to be certain.

Taylor's Martin County West Maverick girls basketball lineup scored a 52-44 nonconference win over the Luverne Cardinals. The victory proved No. 300 for Taylor during his illustrious career as the Mavericks' head coach.

"I really never even focused on it (career wins), my wife brought it up to me. ... It's nice to get it over with," Taylor said on his accomplishment.
