Wayzata needed every game down the final stretch of the season. Sitting just behind the Lake Conference leaders of Hopkins, the Trojans looked to win as many games as possible to get closer to the top spot.
Rival Minnetonka had other plans, when the Skippers came to Wayzata and triumphed over the Trojans 57-54 on Tuesday.

The Skippers mounted a consistent attack and played stingy defensively to hold Wayzata to just 23 points in the second half. That came after Minnetonka found itself down by three points at the half.
Minnetonka had two 20-point players lead the visitors to victory — Aaliyah Crump and Grace Hamdorf.
On the other end of the court, the home team was led by Shannon Fornshell and her 15 points. She was closely followed by Abby Krzewinski's 14 points for Wayzata.
