Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Girls' Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email scores@nbcuni.com


Top performer winner

Lilah Bergan, Columbia Heights: The Hylanders had a bright spot in their season Feb. 1, as Bergan recorded 35 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. Columbia Heights needed all of that from the senior forward to sneak past Minneapolis North 62-57.

Top performer candidates

Maren Westin, Becker: Westin’s performance helped the Bulldogs storm past Mississippi 8 foe Monticello 71-49 Jan. 31 to give Becker a stronger lead in the conference. The senior guard finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds and six assists against the Magic.

Kate Thayer, Northome-Kelliher: The freshman guard recorded her first triple-double of the season and almost had a quadruple double. Thayer scored 26 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, had 11 steals and eight assists in a dominant 99-32 win against Littlefork Feb. 2.

Taryn Hamling, Grand Rapids: Hamling recorded 34 points to help lead the Thunderhawks past Cloquet 69-54 Feb. 2. It was the senior guard’s second time scoring more than 30 points during this season.

Somah Kamara, Robbinsdale Cooper: Averaging 15.8 points per game, Kamara broke through to score 30 points in a close 63-57 win over Fridley Feb. 3. It was the first time the junior guard scored 30 points for the Hawks this season.
