If there's one thing the Dahlman family from Braham can do and do well, it's put a basketball through a hoop.

Friday, junior Rebekah Dahlman became the ninth girls' basketball player -- and 14th player overall -- in state history to reach the 3,000-point mark when she scored 40 in the Bombers' 91-47 romp at Albany.

Dahlman is on pace to break the state career points record of 4,096, set by Minnesota Transitions' Kevin Noreen in 2010. The girls' record is 3,888, set by Minneapolis South's Tayler Hill in 2009.

Dahlman's oldest brother, Isaiah, scored 3,366 career points, third on the list of boys' all-time leading scorers.

Dahlman wasn't the only Minnesota girl to reach a milestone last week. Other notable achievements include:

• Chisago Lakes senior guard Whitney Tinjum, a Washington State recruit, topped 2,000 points in the Wildcats' 60-45 loss to Benilde-St. Margaret's last Tuesday.

• Tessa Cichy of Hill-Murray broke the school career scoring record when she scored 33 points in a 69-66 victory over Chanhassen on Friday. The senior guard has 1,810 points.

• DeLaSalle junior Allina Starr gave a verbal commitment to Georgetown on Dec. 9. Eight days later, the junior forward topped 1,000 career points in a 70-44 victory over Minnehaha Academy.
