Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Girls' Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email scores@nbcuni.com


Top performer winner

Virginia Johnson, Minneapolis Southwest: Johnson’s double-double performance was good enough to outscore the opponent by herself. The senior finished with 35 points and 10 rebounds, and Minneapolis Southwest took care of business to beat Columbia Heights 71-22 Jan. 13.

Top performer candidates

Jenna Kluxdal, Jordan: Kluxdal and the No. 3-3A ranked Jaguars have been cruising throughout the season compiling an 11-0 start. The senior extended Jordan’s win streak to 10 at the time with a season-high 46 points to beat Wright County conference rival Mound Westonka 69-56 Jan. 9.

Jordan Zubich, Mountain Iron-Buhl: The state’s leading scorer was at it again offensively Jan. 14 as Mountain Iron-Buhl got the best of Red Lake 106-21. Zubich scored 43 points, her first 40-point performance of the season, and added six steals and five rebounds.

Kennedy Sanders, Chaska: In an offensive showdown in the Metro West Conference, Sanders erupted for 42 points, a career-high. The senior’s performance helped Chaska get its first conference win of the season, beating Benilde-St. Margaret’s 92-83 Jan. 10.

Rylie Cother, Jackson County Central: The sophomore’s presence was felt all over the court, as Cother nearly finished with a triple-double in a 76-41 win Jan. 10 over Murray County Central. Cother recorded a season-high in points (34), rebounds (13) and assists (seven) in the victory.
