With a pair of college-bound senior prospects leading the way, opposing teams know where to start the scouting report against Eden Prairie.

Forward Nia Holloway will be off to the University of Minnesota next fall and guard Myra Moorjani is going farther up the road to Minnesota-Duluth. That inside-out balance is a big part of the recipe for a team seeking its second trip to state in the last three years.

But plenty of film still needs to be devoted to a mighty group of juniors waiting their turn for captaincy.

First Report

The teams were tied at halftime, but No. 2-seed Eden Prairie (23-4) toppled No. 3-seed Minnetonka (21-5), 59-50 in the Class 4A, Section 2 semifinals.

Eden Prairie had a balanced scoring effort. Junior forward Savanna Jones led with 15 points — 10 of which came in the second half. Myra Moorjani scored 12 points, senior forward Nia Holloway scored 11 points and junior guard Annika Anderson scored 10.

Minnetonka freshman forward Aaliyah Crump played beyond her years, scoring 25 points on three made 3-pointers. She helped the Skippers take a four-point lead late in the first half before the Eagles made two baskets in the last 20 seconds to tie the score at 27.

Senior guard Desiree Ware opened the scoring after halftime and finished with 10 points, all in the second half. It was all Eden Prairie from there as a 14-3 run propelled it to a multi-possession lead the rest of the way.

Eden Prairie is ranked No. 2 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News. Minnetonka is No. 4.
