When Providence Academy’s Maddyn Greenway and company saw the latest basketball rankings, they knew this game had a little more meaning than the others.

“We knew we wanted this,” Greenway said.

Holy Family Catholic (20-4), ranked No. 2 in Class 2A in the Feb. 9 rankings by Minnesota Basketball News, came into Tuesday’s contest with just three losses on its resume, improving upon its 10-9 record last season.

Providence (19-4), last year’s state runner-up, entered the game ranked No. 4 in Class 2A.

The pair of Section 5 teams provided a potential teaser into tournament time, with the Lions using a dominant second-half display to secure a 57-43 win at Holy Family Catholic High School.
