Trailing by seven points in the second half, the undefeated Tigers pulled away — led by guard Jordyn Hilgemann’s 30 points — for a 75-58 victory and a berth in the Class 3A championship game.

Marshall senior guard Jordyn Hilgemann had scored more than 2,300 points in her high school career going into the Class 3A semifinal against Holy Angels.

So when Hilgemann struggled in the first half Tuesday, making just one of 10 field goal attempts, there was no worry on the Tigers’ bench. They knew they’d soon see the player who is the leading scorer in program history.

Hilgemann didn’t disappoint, scoring 25 of her game-high 30 points after halftime as Marshall (22-0) pulled away to defeat the Stars 75-58 and earn a berth in Friday’s championship game.
