It’s been a fun and exciting first few games for Ki’ani Lockett at Minnetonka.

Lockett, who transferred from DeLaSalle following last school year, helped the Skippers pull off a 62-55 win over Lake Conference rival Eden Prairie Friday night at Eden Prairie High School.

“We always talk about maintaining their runs,” Lockett said. “Everyone is going to have their own run, so just maintaining and finishing at the end is big.”

It was a game of runs and stops throughout, with the Eagles soaring early to lead the entire opening half. The Eagles took a 25-20 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

“We started off pretty slow — not what we usually do,” said the Skippers’ Desiree Ware, a junior guard. “The tempo was off.”
