Minnehaha Academy (23-6) held a 27-18 lead at halftime, despite the shooting slump for top scorer and junior guard Mia Curtis. Rhoades picked up the pace and tallied 11 points in the first half as the Redhawks broke a 15-15 tie with 5:17 left to assert control.

“When I got in the locker room, all my teammates were like, ‘Keep shooting Mia, you’re a shooter, and that first half’s out the window,’ ” Curtis said.

At the start of the second half, Curtis hit a three-point basket that led to a nine-point Redhawks run. Midway through the second half, Minnehaha Academy had extended the lead to 20 points.

St. Peter was led by junior forward Sarah Conlon with 13 points.

Minnehaha Academy will play Albany at 8 p.m. Friday at Williams Arena in a semifinal game.
