Sauk Centre vs. Albany

7:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14

Teams in Class 2A have taken notice of Albany. The No. 10-2A Huskies are on a 14-game winning streak heading into this week, and have not lost since Dec. 26.

However, if Albany (19-2, 11-0) wants to turn its streak into momentum heading into the Class 2A, Section 6 tournament, it'll need to find a way to go through Friday's opponent: No. 2-1A Sauk Centre.

Junior Paige Meyer has helped drive Albany's winning streak, recording 30 points or more in multiple contests this season.

Opponents have found out how difficult it is to score on Sauk Centre (20-1, 13-0), which is winning by an average margin of nearly 25 points per game. The Mainstreeters' only loss this season came in a triple-overtime 89-86 blemish to Minnehaha Academy back on Nov. 23.

Senior guard Tori Peschel scored 35 points against Minnehaha Academy. Julia Dammann, a senior center, is also a threat as a career 1,000-point scorer.
