Minnehaha Academy

vs. Providence Academy

7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28

A win against Minnehaha Academy could be the boost Providence Academy needs. The Lions won 20 games last year, but couldn't make it past eventual Class 2A, Section 5 champion Holy Family Catholic, losing 53-44 in the semifinals.

This year, the No. 8-2A Lions (15-4, 4-1) have put other Class 2A teams on notice as they've won the majority of their games in dominant fashion, outscoring opponents by nearly 20 points per game.

If Hailey Hohenecker, who averages 14.4 points per game, and the Lions want to make a long postseason run, a win against No. 5-2A Minnehaha Academy would help.

The Redhawks (12-4, 3-0) have been tough for opponents to stop this season, particularly on offense, where they average nearly 70 points per game. Mia Curtis (26.4 ppg) is one of the biggest disruptors for opposing defenses.
