Elk River vs.

Park Center

7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7

Elk River has drawn statewide attention after starting the season with a 7-3 record. Can it continue its solid play against one of the best teams in the state?

A big part of why the No. 10-4A Elks have emerged as a power is the offensive abilities of Lydia Haack. The senior guard scored a season-high 24 points on Jan. 3 in a 75-53 triumph over Roseville.

Very few teams have been as dominant as Park Center this year. The No. 3-4A Pirates have averaged 76.3 points per game, with their only loss coming in a 97-79 stumble to No. 1-4A Hopkins on Dec. 28.

Adalia McKenzie, one of the top scorers in the state, has spearheaded Park Center's offense. The junior forward averages 32.7 points per game and she's scored 40 or more points in three contests.
