Simley vs. Austin

11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4

If defense wins championships, Simley might be a team to watch out for when it comes time for the Class 3A playoffs.

Take one look at No. 6-3A Simley's schedule and you'll see signs of how difficult it has been for opposing offenses to score. The Spartans (5-2, 0-0) have held opponents to just under 37 points per game this season.

While the Spartans' offense has not been the team's biggest strength, they do have multiple players who can produce offensively. Sydney Stensgard, Acheampomaah Danso and Ysareia Chevre each average 10 or more points per game this season.

When No. 5-3A Austin meets Simley at the Rochester Civic Center on Saturday, it'll bring an offense that should challenge Simley's stingy defense.

The Packers (10-1, 7-1) are led by Hope Dudycha, Kyra Walters, and Colie Justice, who each average more than 12 points per game.
