Lake City vs. Winona Cotter

7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10

Lake City and Winona Cotter share some recent history. Last season, 20-win Lake City earned the top seed in the Class 2A, Section 1 playoffs when it met Winona Cotter in the semifinals on March 2. Fourth-seeded Winona Cotter upset the Tigers 53-38, advancing to the section finals where it fell to Caledonia.

Lake City (5-0, 2-0) is once again out to a dominant start. The No. 6-2A Tigers have defeated opponents by an average of more than 30 points this season.

Standout sophomore guard Natalie Bremer has emerged as a nightmare for opposing defenses. She has averaged 22 points per game, including a season-high 31 in an 80-47 win on Dec. 2 against Plainview-Elgin-Millville.

For Winona Cotter to pull off another upset against Lake City, it will need to find a way to slow that high-powered Lake City offense.

The Ramblers (6-0, 3-0) have proven their ability to slow offenses, allowing less than 38 points per game.

Winona Cotter has played well on offense, too, and Jordan Rubie has helped generate some of the scoring punch. The senior guard has averaged more than 16 points per game.
