The Central Lakes Conference is setting up for intriguing finish.
St. Cloud Apollo and Fergus Falls are keeping conference leaders Alexandria and Willmar in their sights, but after Tuesday's clash in Fergus Falls, either the Eagles or the Otters may find themselves losing ground.
Apollo's Lariah Washington, whose 28.1 ppg is good for fourth in the state, has been the driving force for the Eagles (15-8, 10-3). Washington scored 25 points in the first meeting with Fergus Falls — a 70-44 Otters' win on Feb. 5.
Fergus Falls (16-4, 9-3) can position itself for the regular-season series sweep with a big night from offensive leader Ellie Colbeck, who twice scored 20 points in a game this season, including in a 71-42 victory over Detroit Lakes on Dec. 4.
