Parkers Prairie

vs. Underwood

6:15 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22

The Little Eight Conference will be decided Friday when Parkers Prairie visits Underwood.

With a victory, Parkers Prairie wins the conference title outright while a loss to Underwood, which fell to the Panthers in early January, means the Rockets can grasp a share of the regular-season title.

To pull off the regular-season sweep, Parkers Prairie (16-2, 8-0) needs another big-time performance from Faith Alberts (23.9 ppg), who finished with 25 points, nine rebounds and eight blocks to put an exclamation point on a 60-39 victory over Underwood on Jan. 8.

Keep an eye on the Panthers' Veronica Schwartz and Emily Benzinger. Both average more than 11 ppg, and each have shown the ability to take over a game. Schwartz posted a season-high 22 points in a 92-20 pummeling of Bertha-Hewitt on Nov. 29, while Benzinger scored a season-high 25 points on Jan. 4 in a 84-49 victory over Ashby.

Underwood must find fuel to power its offensive production this go-round: the 39 points it scored against the Panthers earlier this season was a season low.

Brooke Hovland could be the spark to ignite the Rockets (18-3, 10-1) this time around. She scored a season-high 18 points on Jan. 25 in a 56-44 win over Hancock.
