Duluth Marshall vs. Proctor

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12

Speaking of one-two punches, Duluth Marshall possibly possess the state's top combo — one that has delivered plenty of knockouts this season.

The Hilltoppers boast two of Minnesota's top scorers. Gianna Kneepkens and her 31.4 ppg lead the state, while teammate Grace Kirk (27.8 ppg) is fifth.

That dynamic duo hopes to have a hand in sending Proctor to the mat for the first time in Lake Superior Conference play this season, and keep Duluth Marshall in the hunt for a league title. The Hilltoppers (16-5, 2-1) can move into a tie with the Rails (16-6, 3-0) for first place with a win.

Ducking and weaving are skills in which Proctor is proficient, as defense has been the Rails' strong point. They've allowed just 43.7 points per game this season.

Proctor’s counterpunch will likely be Sam Pogatchnik, who must score at or above her average of 14.8 points to keep the Rails off the ropes. A victory Tuesday means Proctor remains an unbeaten contender and the favorite to win the league title with just two weeks remaining in the regular season.
