Two players averaging more than 20 points per page meet this week when Joey Batt and New Ulm collides with Madison Gehloff and Waseca on Thursday.
Joey Batt has been on an absolute tear this season for New Ulm (16-3, 6-1). Entering the week, she’s fourth in the state with 27.9 points per game and has posted 37 or more points in three different games, including a season-high 38 in a 64-62 win over Fridley on Dec. 28.
The senior guard has been held to less than 20 points only once this season: 10 in a 68-42 loss to Waseca on Jan. 8.
Madison Gehloff leads Waseca with 20.8 ppg, and the senior guard posted a season-high 24 points in a 43-37 win on Dec. 15 at Willmar.
A victory over the Eagles will keep the No. 2-3A Bluejays (20-1, 7-0) undefeated in Big South Conference East Division play and all but secure the program a league title.
